April Basketball Extravaganza

NCAAWith April’s heat comes more basketball madness. Basketball has shown its staying power in the public based on the interest that they have shown. What better way to celebrate one of America’s most loved sports than to highlight some of the things to watch out for on the basketball court during April.

We begin with the National Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Championships which is held in April. It highlights basketball on the collegiate level. They feature the most talented emerging talents who hail from various points in the country. The NCAA basketball tournament also has the top place for being the world’s largest collegiate basketball association.

Another tournament which is held in April is the Nike Hoop Summit. This league features the best high school senior rookies in the country. They are formed into the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Select Team and they are put to the test against the World Select Team which features the top talents from the world who are 19 years old and below.

On a grander note, April also marks the end of NBA’s regular season. Here we get to see the rewards of our constant cheers for our favorite teams. During April, special awards are also given. These are The Sixth Man of the Year Award, Most Improved Player Award, Defensive Player of the Year Award, Rookie of the Year Award, Coach of the Year Award, and the most coveted, the Most Valuable Player of the Year Award

The end of the regular season marks the beginning of the NBA Playoffs so you fans do not have to worry about missing out on some basketball action. Here we see teams from different conferences competing for the champion position. It culminates in the NBA Finals in June.
